Who on here has kids and how old are they?

I have a boy and girl. They are 4 and 5.

I have no kids, but just to illustrate that I do understand a parents' perspective...I've coached many youth sports from Tee-ball on up and seen kids grow up and need me around as a role model. I have a brother that is 14 and that I've practically helped to raise from the time I was 10 years old on. The love I have for my brother is the same love I'm sure I'll have for a child of my own. I have cut off movies with raunchy or violent stuff in it that he's tried to watch. I have taken video games from him that were objectionable. I have monitored his music and told him what is and isn't acceptable concerning that. He is 14 now, well adjusted, and knows the difference between right and wrong. There are some things I can't control not being around as much and not actually being his parent, but I really don't have to do a lot of that now honestly.

Just because you don't have a biological child of your own doesn't mean you don't fully understand what it is to raise one.

Oh but it is different. I too practically raised my little sister after my parents passed but having these to kids I have now is completely different. I dont know why but it is. Some things I read is like some of the authors that dont have kids but write books on how to raise them.

Thats true, we all know kids that have biological parents, but people who aren't their parents end up being more of a parent to them.
